Abigail 2024
This was just a bloody good time of a vampire movie. The Radio Silence guys know how to make fun horror.
*full disclosure* I knew exactly what was gonna happen at every turn. My daughter was in the running for the role of Abigail so I had read the whole script. I can honestly say that I still felt the suspense and excitement. The cast was great and I wasn’t even annoyed that it wasn’t my kid! Well done.

The references to John Wick are too numerous to list. But this is no John Wick. IMHO, all an action revenge flick really needs is an inciting incident and then just a shit ton of cools fight sequences. Monkey Man spent way too much time trying to keep us intrigued with quick cut partial flashbacks, only to give us absolutely nothing surprising when it finally revealed the full flashback. We know you’ve got trauma. Just fight already.
