  Grave of the Fireflies 1988

  Super super emotional. Animation is such a unique medium to discuss war. The ability to share the destruction and pain of war in animation is so gruesome in such a different way. Every line on someone's face hurts in such a different way, I can't imagine how much it must have hurt to create such imagery with so much emotion.
  The story itself lends itself to be about so much more than war, which I greatly admire and surprised me. Another movie on my list of movies I never want to see again.

  Felt pretty disconnected as I watched. Parts definitely were funny, but still overwhelmingly cringe :/
  The beginning was funny but the bit got old kinda fast. The actors ages were very distracting for me, it wasn't at all convincing that they'd be high schoolers.
