Margrete: Queen of the North 2021
I am a fan of historical drama and intrigue, and royals behaving badly ever since reading and then watching the fabulous Wolf Hall. Different period of course and the Nordic setting was a bonus; gloomy and incredibly stark landscapes.
But Trine Dyrrholm carried the film for me.
I didn’t think it dragged at all! I was literally writhing in my seat most of the way through with the tension and crippling uncertainty that Margrete suffered.
