it’s undeniable how grandiose and beautiful this movie is, Corbet and Lol deserve their flowers for that alone. Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones were standouts for me, when Guy stole the show from the second he came on screen and I didn’t think it could get any better, Felicity shows up in 2nd half and just. doesn’t. stop. Beautiful score as well.
Not quite five stars for me but it’s clear this one’s special.
There were points during this movie where I genuinely thought about giving it 4+ stars. In a nutshell it’s a fun, enjoyable spin on a spy flick with Matthew Vaughn’s added flair and a cast that works surprisingly well. But, as you are sitting there, you can’t help but feel utterly exhausted by the constant twisting and turning of the plot, leaving you more confused with each passing frame. It's a shame as this clearly had heaps of potential to be a good mid range movie if it wasn’t for the script that’s more confused than Steve Rogers waking up after 70 years in ice.
