I NEED people to talk to about this movie.
Extremely relevant in a way that makes it almost horror. The care taken to depict war and violence as unglorified as possible is very clear and very well done. The care taken to give us a female lead who frowns the entire time is very appreciated. The intentional ambiguity of the backstory and politics is seen and saluted. The film about photojournalism, intercut with black and white stills, about documenting reality, is also a fiction that isn’t afraid to use parallels, symbolism, and story elements.
