Beautiful. Carey Mulligan exquisitely portrays what it is to love someone you can never truly have the whole of because there is much too much of them. Innovative use of cinematography and editing as characters run between scenes, between time and space, between colour and black & white. There were times I wanted to understand more - why only he could create what he created, conduct as he conducted, or love as he loved.

The Boy and the Heron 2023
As with all Studio Ghibli films this one is a feast for the eyes! Visually stunning and as chaotic as a dream. I sank back in my chair and let the dream rush over me, but I could not emotionally connect to the characters and so the story left me baffled and cold.
