I went into Creep with pretty high expectations from reviews I’d read online over the years, but I was fairly disappointed.
I enjoyed the premise and style of the film but I honestly didn’t find the film particularly creepy or unsettling. The antagonists attempts to come across as weird and creepy often made me laugh, jumpscares are hinted at (and often times delivered) many times throughout the film which I felt was cheap.

First Pixar film in a long time that’s actually given me a sense of wonder. The unusual premise was pulled off well and the story was enjoyable in many levels - the deeper themes of the film don’t make it inaccessible to younger audiences, and vice versa. The animation was stunning (its Pixar, I’m not surprised) and the environments designed for the film were a particular highlight for me.

Overall compelling and I’d be lying if I said I was unable to turn away, but I took issue with how biased it was - information was withheld regarding carol baskin in an attempt to make her just as antagonistic as the titular Joe Exotic, when in reality she’s a charitable woman whom he’s been verbally threatening and terrorising for years. I’d highly recommend doing further reading on the subject as the documentary series definitely doesn’t present all of the facts.
