Never seen a better depiction of mother (-daughter) relationships within the social context of race and wealth disparity. Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon shine as they awesomely play off each other to portray the toxicity of privilege within the familial arena. It manages to push the questioning of morals and the law without being predictable or dismissive. The message will definitely stay with you. Even Hugh Grant was invested in this one.
