    To know going in- this doesn’t have the ambition, deep themes, visual feasts, or memorable characters of Song of the Sea, Kells, Wolfwalkers, or even the Breadwinner. It aims to be a more pure children’s movie and executes it well, focusing on goofy characters and simplicity.

     A pretty unique theme elevates the material:  a child learning the pressures on parents to pretend they have all the answers. It’s a very empathetic movie, and that makes it easy to appreciate for its more modest merits.
