tv taught me how to feel, now real life has no appeal ✨
mostly here to ramble about how much I love HiGH&LOW
Battle Royale in an office? Sounds like my kind of movie! Sadly, an amazing concept ruined by poor execution. This movie had the potential to be a really interesting social commentary, but instead it just focuses on over-the-top violence with very little else going on.
What makes Battle Royale so effective is its ability to make you care for all of the characters. Unfortunately, you learn so little about the characters (and the dialogue is absolutely terrible) that it's difficult…
Such a fun and charming little movie! Although the story isn't anything remarkable, the performances truly set it apart and make it worth watching. Honestly, I forgot how amazing Will Poulter was at such a young age. His comedic timing is just so good and now I want to go back and re-watch all of his old School of Comedy sketches from around this time too.
"What do you do on your day off?"
"I pray."
I used to watch this movie all the time when I was little. I haven't watched it in so long, but I'm happy to say I still find it so funny and charming. Sure, some aspects have not aged well, but it's impossible for me not to have a gigantic smile on my face while I watch it. I'll always treasure this movie! 💙
