the fact that the problems that this film denounces are still relevant more than 60 years later (troubled children with erratic behaviour); how their emotions are invalidated and they're replied with repression and hostility. this became one of my fav preadolescent movies. the lead, jean-pierre leaud was only 14 here and he was brilliant. good luck finding a 14 year old today with half his talent
