  de niro really put on that weight, really becomes that monster of a man he represents in the ring “he ain’t pretty no more”.

  loved the black and white look of the film, deliberately done to reflect the crudeness of the ring, and then in colour for the montage of his gentle family hustle alongside his punchy knockouts. 

  camera work aswell, everyone has already said so much but that one dolly shot on sugar ray becoming more imposing and bigger in camera was incredible work. the camera spins when someone get punched and you feel it.

  loved it. film had me covering both my eyes to look away yet i could still hear that brutal bone crunching, drooling, squishy sound design 😭. 

  heavy heavy film on beauty and age. 

  very surreal, vulnerable depiction on beauty fix schemes and body dysmorphia.

  also one of those films where you think it’ll end here but it keeps going but in a good horrific and disturbing way 👍.

  solid, creative biopic:

  thought they would’ve mentioned pharrell’s trademark 4 beat intro somewhere. 

  also that vocal mixing is terrible you can really tell that parts of the interview are stitched together sentences, i get having it be more realistic and free flowing but it didn’t threw me off.

  is there any chance that just sometimes you could maybe ask for a retake, re-record a stitched together sentence. 

  this won’t always happen and people are always busy but maybe try and cut down on stitching together sentences maybe?

  i really liked this film though i've always liked pharrell’s music.
