The Monkey 2025
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Big fan of Stephen King’s work but had actually never heard of this short story. As someone who has complex PTSD, I was pleasantly surprised to see a narrative showcasing trauma, how we carry it, and the ways it strains our relationships. I’ll have to read the source material.
I hope it has a bit more depth than this film which left me yearning for more of a sincere, if not more somber, reflection on trauma. Instead, it all felt…

I'm Still Here 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Incredibly sad and frustrating to watch what this family goes through. Powerful performances throughout the entire cast. This will likely win Best Foreign Film (please do not give it to Emilia Perez) and Best Actress. Dark horse for Best Picture, long shot but I can see it.

Juno 2007
Can’t believe it took me this long to finally watch this.
Man, Elliot Page’s comedic timing and dramatic range is phenomenal.
Longest 90 minute movie I’ve ever seen, and I mean that I’m the best way possible.
The name Liberty Bell killed me every time it fell out of a character’s mouth.

The Dark Knight 2008
Part of a collection of Nolan films that have been screening in my local Regal Cinemas.
Not much to say about this one that hasn’t already been said. Redefined the superhero genre. Legendary performances throughout. All the famous zingers that have been enshrined in the zeitgeist (my wife actually turned to me and asked, “That came from this movie?” in reference to the ‘die a hero, live to be a villain’ line).
Will most likely be watching Interstellar next, an all timer.
