This would've been so... fine, I guess, if they hadn't thrown in the found footage/ framing device/ mockumentary thing at the beginning and end. Like the grungy 70's deliberately cheap analog horror-y thing works mostly, even if they kinda do fuck all with the time period. But, the mockumentary thing is equal parts cheap and unnecessary, and masturbatory. I know it would've been like 75 minutes that way but, like, who fucking cares?

I can't even be like "why didn't anyone tell me this was so good?" since like everyone absolutely did, I'm just lazy.
The score is fucking exemplary. I loved pretty much every performace, especially the lead, great shit. Cold open concluded the first one as much as it had to before looping us into the new narrative, I'm into it. Sequel-ed successfully, bigger scope, more spooky, and more creative ways for Parker Finn to gaslight the fuck out of his protagonist.

Shame they got caught using GenAI bc literally everything else about this joint goes hard as hell, I really really like this movie. It's like 3 title cards, they can reissue it eventually idfk, I missed them while i was actually watching and just read about it after the fact. David Dastmalchian earned a leading role.
