  Five Nights at Freddy's 2023

  Generally a "just fine" movie - it wasn't scary at all and I'm becoming disappointed with the quality of scares that Blumhouse has been producing as of late. The flashbacks and background could have been a storyline all of itself, and were more of the interesting parts of the film. There are some major impactful storyline gaps throughout this movie. Also, maybe let's not sell out our siblings to tony ghost children trapped in animatronic bodies.

  The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes 2023

  I didn't read this book before seeing the film (unlike its original predecessors), but it sheds light on some context to older President Snow and his descent into evil mastermind. This storyline is a good villain origin story, and Tom Blyth did a wonderful job portraying subtle changes to his character that make you love and hate him all at the same time.
