  A true epic in every sense. There is a lot to take in because of the lengthy runtime. The construct of the American dream and the sobering world of being an immigrant post WWII are on full display. Pair this with my pick for the best actor of his year and you have a film the will rightfully become a classic. Also shooting in vista vision something that hasn’t been done since the 60’s with a 15 minute intermission is bad ass
