Look, the fact that a few teenagers' hormones are going crazy can be explained. That an entire village is obsessively gossiping about the local beauty while it is in wartime is simply unreal. The film swings between satire and drama, but is mainly characterized by its misogyny.

Giving up your sporting dream because of political interference and that just because one country can't stand another. If you look at it rationally, it is quite childish behavior. The contrast between the heroic deeds on the field and the hunt on the home front gives a terribly mixed feeling. Maybe it is time to organize an ice hockey match between the two nations?

    Double Bill Tuesday: JL Godard

The poetic version of Bonnie and Clyde packed with the most idiosynatric situations imaginable. Don't look for coherence, because that's hard to find. I see it more as an multifaceted experiment in which the viewer is challenged to think about the motives behind their actions by this villainous crooks.

So, where do I start. The beginning was a little confusing. Not completely sure what Kubrick wants to tell me. The second part is easier to follow, only the jump cuts are a bit disturbing. On a positive note: the visual effects are great, certainly for 68' and the soundtrack is legendary. And this movie is obviously an inspiration for future pictures.
