Smile 2 2024
Fun but kinda repetitive from the first one. By the time you get to the final act, everything kinda just gets thrown out the window for the finale. Which is fine but again makes it feel very much like "Smile, but again" rather than much particularly new. Lots of good effects and I did like the design for the antagonist in the finale but by that point it felt a bit like it was going through the motions.

Best Pictures Winners
Heavy, sad, but a really good portrait of a suburban family coming apart at the seams. The inability to process grief because no one will fucking talk to each other out of desire to avoid pain is extremely real and well portrayed. The whole cast is great, Judd Hirsch as always is excellent. Even tears from Donald Sutherland! A good sad one to finish out my quest to see all the Best Picture winners.
