  Daft punk was my favorite band growing up. I loved this movie when it came out. I still love it today. Is the plot very generic? Yes. Does young cgi Jeff Bridges look like a bad pre-rendered cutscene? Yes.

  This movie has great cinematography,
  Great action directing,
  and THE best musical score I’ve heard for a movie.

  For me it is enough.

  Definitely a style over substance film. My main issue with the film is that nothing really happens for the first hour. I like the movie that exists in the second half afterwards, but this movie has 1 hour of empty space. The characters are also broken down to their bare minimum in terms of motivations. Very pretty visuals though. Beyond the Black Rainbow feels more like an art exhibit than a movie. If you have a lot time to spare…
