The Notebook 2004
Despite this very popular movie coming out 20 years ago, I surprisingly made it all the way through puberty never seeing it.
It seemed overrated and I never thought Ryan Gosling was attractive, but today I had the sudden idea to watch a movie that I thought would be easy prey for a harsh review.

Stuck in Love 2012
Another one of my favorite movies.
I’ve liked it since I was a teenager and saw Lily Collin’s acting here as cool and mature…. Damn were we both just kids with strong opinions balanced on pokey stilts. It’s obvious she is portraying a nineteen year old now. The young characters can sometimes seem overly dramatized but then you realize they are actually playing teenagers very well.
The best part of the movie is the well curated soundtrack, raise for whoever organized that.
Between the Bars by Elliot Smith = I’d cry too.

Heathers 1989
Young Christian Slater and Winona Ryder are both heartthrobs in this movie.
Slater’s character, Jason, probably helped rocket me into a horrible taste in men but damn was he fine.
Do I care about the musical? No. Why would two teenagers on their way to being mass murderers be singing? This isn’t Sweeny Todd.
The movie is dark and captivating, seeing through the eyes of teenage outcasts in the extremely dramatized high school experience.
Big fan. Again, another 80s movie that leaves you with that “it’s all going to be alright” feeling.
