important is all i can say. a delicate introspection into the violent categorization we impose on nature. i anticipated much of alex’s storyline but was surprised and appreciative of alvoro’s character study. furthermore, i enjoyed how film remained steadfast in holding space for existing beyond the binary. neither character’s story was entirely “resolved” because the answer was never the point nor obligated.

did a ninth grader write, direct, and score this film because wtFuck was that. this was the cinematic equivalent to regurgitated raw chicken.
i don’t even know where to begin. you can’t spend most of the film showing vignettes of family drama with little to no context and poorly written dialogue. it almost felt like the dialogue was intentionally corny but that would have served no purpose. the score was so on the nose in the worst way that it almost felt like a disney movie. neon, you are on my shit list until further notice.
