There's something refreshing about the X-Men franchise. It take the over-the-top serious vibe of DC and mixes it with the jokey formula of Marvel/Disney and manages to walk the fine line between them. This movie goes out of its way to tell the audience that the "3rd" movie is always the worst in the franchise, but still delivers the best third act in any recent superhero flick.
