  This could easily be seen as a run-of-the-mill Lifetime-esque melodrama about a teen seduced into a life of prostitution. But Cotillard's performance elevates it beyond that. The film itself beats her and the audience into a place of desperate submission, then to anger, then depression. The cycle goes around a few times in the film's 2 hour run time, and I felt pretty bludgeoned by the end. At 21, Cotillard has a world weariness beyond her youth and out-acts the…
