Watched this for some horror schlock and walked away much more impressed and intrigued than I could have ever imagined.
This coming out in the early 70s, from a gay director, in fascist Spain, is quite shocking to me with the clear metaphors of repressed homosexuality and how society views it that it contains. Other reviewers have left much better reviews on this app that share my feelings and ideas. I find the parallel of the room with the dead bodies and the killers “secrets” being a metaphor for “the closet” incredibly thought provoking.
