Boiler Room 2000
A less flashy version of the Wolf of Wall Street, Boiler Room delivers an engaging story about a young guy chasing easy money, anchored by a heartfelt but dysfunctional father-son dynamic, something rarely seen in film these days. That said, the film feels like it’s missing a few key scenes, with characters making sudden leaps in development without much setup. Seth’s relationship with Nia Long’s character, for example, has solid chemistry but lacks depth. The real highlight? Ben Affleck steals every scene he’s in as the arrogant, commanding senior broker. I only wish we got more of him.

Nosferatu 2024
Visually stunning with excellent camera work and performances but all of that cannot elevate what is a very lackluster script, a lot of the characters come actress as very half backed and one dimensional maybe apart from Willem Dafoe’s Albin Eberhart.
Nosferatu himself lacks any clear motivations that could have me invested in the story and it may be a signature of his but Robert Eggers direction and editing style left me very disoriented and also very confused.
