  Slapstick, drama, and whimsy all came together in this film. And the never ending bowls of noodles! Also fun to see a young Ken Watanabe pop up.

  As I watched the film I kept putting myself in different women/femme/girls shoes, it felt like the kind of movie I couldn’t just digest through my own perspective. What might old ladies feel watching this? The preteen girls squealing near me in the theater? A non-binary person? A young mom? My mom? I haven’t fully formed my own thoughts after watching the Barbie movie…but I feel like my generation may get the least out of it, although in some ways…
