Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World 2023
It's been a couple of weeks and I can't stop thinking about this film. We follow Angela for 24 hrs on a Joycean odyssey around Bucharest. Following up on Loony Porn, Jude takes another female character that is typically treated as an NPC and puts them central stage. A brutal satire about the endless construction of images, getting lost and losing people in a broadcast system of external validation - censorship alongside the game of acquiring social capital.

While the book is a tour de force, what makes the TV adaptation earn its keep is the power of the performances, especially among the younger cast.
