Arrival 2016
The most important part is missing. The part where she finds out, how exactly the language of the heptopodes works and how to translate it. This was the reason why I wanted to watch this movie in the first place. I wanted to see how she manages to systematically decipher it and what linguistic logic lies behind those logogramms.
Instead they are suddenly capable of understanding them, with the knowledge seamingly being plucked out of thin air from one scene to the next.
This movie could have been so cool if they had tried to put information of actual scientific value in it.Translated from by -

Couldn’t stop thinking about Nope and how much 2022 movies are starting to mix up their film genres in the most enjoyable way possible.
While Nope’s more of a sci-fi-western-horror-mystery, Bones and All has more a romantic-roadmovie-horror-cannibalism touch. But Instead of just making another Bonnie and Clyde/Badlands/Natural Born Killers kind of romantic Killer-Road-Trip-movie, Guadagnino used cannibalism as a metaphor for coming of age, processing the trauma that you inherit from your parents, discovering your own sexuality/queerness or basically whatever you’re discovering about yourself…Translated from by
