Somehow I'd managed to miss seeing this film growing up in the 80s underneath the constant threat of nuclear extinction. Perhaps when something is in the news week after week, you get a little numb to it.

Well, now I know. Threads is a far grimmer experience thanks to looking at the ramifications to society on a much longer timeline. And it's not pretty in the least.
Threads is a compelling call to pull back from nuclear war. Timely when it was made, and sadly a message that's incredibly timely again.
