The movie event of the year! Harrison Ford was good, the brain guy was sort of interesting, the rest was meh. The Red Hulk actually looked good, and almost starting WWIII was kinda funny. But Giancarlo Esposito was underused and none of the jokes were ever really funny. And sorry to say it, but he really isn’t Steve Rogers (or Chris Evans). I think there were bits of something that could’ve been interesting, but overall it’s nothing special. At least it was under 2h so it didn’t really drag for me.

Jim Carrey is mostly great, but too many jokes/references fall flat and no other characters are interesting outside of Egg Man and Sonic. Will watch the next two though.

Definitely funny at times; especially funny when it isn’t trying as hard to be. Reynolds’ delivery of “gubernatorial” and other subtly hilarious lines, as well as that “dog”, stand out.
Ultimately, I tend to agree with Scorsese that these (MCU movies) are less films and more theme parks. I think of them as junk food: enjoyable in the moment, but ultimately not great for you (nor for the medium).

I will preface this review with a disclaimer that I am an absolute fanboy for the first (only) 6 Star Wars films. However, my rose-tinted vantage point shouldn’t totally discredit the points I’d like to make here.
My first line is only half-joking. I truly consider the Six to each be works of art. Yet, I fully recognize how ludicrous this sounds to most people.
