    Mulholland Drive

    ★★★★

Mulholland Drive is a thrilling and riveting murder mystery. like the street Mulholland drive, the movie is a winding (and somewhat confusing) journey involving multiple storylines that collide and create one at the end. After learning that the film initially started as a TV pilot, some of the scene began to make more sense as the story seemed very choppy at times. I can say, however, that this story was always meant to be a film, and for it to be a TV show just doesn't seem practical to me.

    The Rider

    ★★★½

The rider is a modern western film that follows the story of the main character, Brady. In this film he toils with his love for rodeo and his own health. The directer, Zhao, does a good job evoking emotion not just with the powerful story itself, but with great camera work which features many notable and impressive shots. One of the most pictured is the landscape which through the use of wide angle shots, is elegantly captured and the beauty yet desolate nature of the landscape is a notable insight.

The film is more than just a look into the murder, it is a telling of the story of life. He sets up the circumstances by tell the past of parents and how his family got to where they were when his brother was killed. He comments on social issues like zoning laws and segregation. Singin' in the Rain

    ★★★½

Signing in the rain was a fun and entertaining musical. It documented the story of a silent movie star adjusting to the new age of talkies, and dealing with silent actors who voices aren't necessarily meany for the stage. It featured multiple musical numbers where one or multiple characters engaged in song and dance with the setting often changing to accommodate for background dancers and singers. The use of props such as microphones added to the genius of the movie that was adapted from a musical.
