Losing Satoshi Kon as early as we did still hurts to this day. This film, and his films in general, draw you in immediately and keep hold of you until the credits roll. Gin, Hana, and Miyuki are such a wonderful cast of colorful characters that have me laughing at one moment and crying in another. Kon provided the perfect amount of thought provoking realism while finding the best moments to lighten the mood with some fantastic humor.
I love the period, the cast is stacked, and Robert Pattinson speaks in a French accent. Additionally, this is filmed well and the acting is solid. I think it just lacks a clear vision. This is based on Shakespeare's Henriad (which are phenomenal), but along with changes from the dramas, they make further changes to the actual historical accuracy of Henry V. I'm a history buff and as I said I love the period so I'm maybe a bit more…
Stop motion was beautiful, I hate Greg though. I sat there the whole 3+ minutes dreading that he might sing "potatoes and molasses"
Based on the true events of Operation Martin, this film does exactly what I wanted with a few too many unnecessary scenes and some strange editing at times. Still a good watch for any history buff
