  I only just realised the title of this movie is a mix of Love Actually and Die Hard. Which seemed to be a major thematic element of the movie but I can't figure out the non-surface level significance.

  It's cute though, and there's a funny song number which addresses and fixes a surprisingly problematic Christmas song.

  The hardest thing to believe is the romantic chemistry between the two leads. Which not to name names, but seems more due to both…

  What a wild ride.

  You can't help but be impressed by Matt Damon's (characters) ingenuity and resourcefulness. And the movie sells the believability by grounding it in the science that you never understood to begin with.

  Which is really the genius of the movie. Showing you essentially typical sci-fi space scenes that you would ordinarily dismiss as unrealistic. But for some reason in the movie, I had no issue with accepting. Can you actually grow potatoes on Mars? I guess so?
