truly what can be said about this adaptation that isn't immediately obvious by the review section on this app. Good LORD! Absurdly stunning visual and musical direction. Casting is borderline perfect. And paul dano is here too I guess. The romanticization of parts of the novel boiled my star rating down but was saved by Tuppences performance of Helene alone. Gorgeous gorgeous film. Decent adaptation. We could cut a few paul scenes I fear.

I dont think I can say anything that hasn't already been said. Usually in these reviews I make jokes but I just can't here. It was stunningly made with beautiful sets and colors. I've never had a film make me ache so physically before or cry so hard. I've also never felt so seen. It was like watching my life progress from the outside view I never had, something slightly sickening and so beautiful. I don't necessarily see the ending…
