This is the epitome of the 2010’s cyber-obsession, pick-me girl gets with the bad boy trope, side bangs, wannabe indie sleaze whatever mish mash. Dave Franco makes this semi bearable but not because of his acting. Will never watch again 🥰

Just rewatched before getting into the series, I always forget that I would watch this purely for the incredible images. Impossible to ignore the beauty of Alain Delon and Claudia Cardinale. Makes a great paradox between the gritty world of the ‘people’, on the brink of revolution after centuries of oppression and the polished marble universe of the Italian nobility, where the greatest worry is whom your children are going to marry. Full of desire, mourning for a crumbling empire and does justice to the beauty of Sicily.

Isabelle Adjani as always is insufferable but her acting as always is so gripping. The whole movie could have been a porno if you closed your eyes and just heard the noises. I also can’t stand pseudo-intellectual dialogue, when in reality what they’re saying has absolutely no meaning- However, if you look at it from an ‘absurd’ angle, then sure, it’s fine . Weird story, wouldn’t watch again. Also everyone needs a Xanax
