  The Warriors 1979

  I proudly enjoy this movie. I understand why people struggle to get through the initial watch, but I feel so engaged by the funky low-budget grindhouse graffiti street aesthetic and it’s like empathy that makes you want to keep watching. This USED to be unpopular to enjoy, but since people started to give it a chance it really is a cheesy but well-aged pulp cult classic and I find it so fun.

  10 year old me watching this really went to school the next day and said ‘can you dig it’ then probably got physically bullied and deserved it.

  This movie is the epitome of such a niche sub-genre of horror; where it’s not much of a horror film until you apply the ideas of it to the real world and you’re left with a terrifying reflection on the world around you. I’m still processing how detailed this film really is.
