I can't remember the last time I saw a sequel with this level of payoff! Everything we were teased and promised in the first one comes back with full force in this achievement in of a movie.
I am sold on this story and this universe! The performance are what I came for but the source material, Villeneuve and his POV are what I will be coming back for!

I waited a long time between when I saw the first trailer for this movie and when I finally saw it. With the anticipation, I imagine many possible plotlines for it. In doin so, however, I clocked many twists and turns within the first 30min.
I left very entertained nonetheless, the middle act in this movie is thoroughly funny! I love a situational comedy more than anything, but I thought the language and physical humour added plenty to this endearing plot. Mickey Madison is my revelation of the year; I cannot wait to see what she does next!

This is the classic remake I did not know I needed. Proof that French cinema can still go big - weaving summer blockbuster into the fabric of a French Classic (capital "C").
By no means perfect - I particularly have issues with the pacing. Hear me out, this is when you want to break it down into multiple movies, no? The source material is so dense... but really really fun! Niney is a revelation.
