This movie is batshit insane. I love the comically expositional dialogue at the beginning (“You are my uncle!”) and the constant overdubs. This is clearly a Hong Kong/Canadian perspective on early 1990’s NYC culture. Street violence is portrayed as cartoonishly akin to a Ninja Turtles-style interpretation of gangs (real ‘let me attem, boss!’ energy.)

This is my other favorite Tarantino flick behind the KB volumes and is inexplicably one he does not much like himself. I think it’s an almost perfect film, with some flops in the way women are portrayed in a movie exclusively about women and why most men are bad (all men are bad in this movie lol.)
The whole cast is incredible, with Kurt Russell being the best evil, charismatic loner dude that you can imagine.
