Shattered me. A monumental film. Hard to believe they were able to shoot all of that death. ‘A city slowly dying,’ as the journalist said. Absolutely essential war viewing on Russia’s crimes.
A beautiful, funny, touching portrayal of a Ukrainian woman’s fight for her land, freedom and love, a powerful metaphor for Ukraine’s fight against Russia. It has a lightness to it but also wisdom. Brilliant!

I’m not sure why this film has average reviews. The premise is very simple yet it paints a complex picture of nature and humans sharing one world, with a poetic twist.
What I enjoyed the most is exactly this complexity: you are immersed in a small village in Tibet where a family lives off the land and is faced with a difficult choice. You learn about the ethnic differences of the region, inter generational perspectives, a monk who takes us…
