  an hour into the movie and i couldn't stop crying. by the end i was just weeping.

  god i love this movie. a pre-code con artist romcom. the odd dynamic between blondell and cagney works so well. their chemistry is so good.

  the performances dip into naturalism at times. the moment that strikes me the most is when they're discussing their rather complicated relationship. cagney gets exasperated and uncomfortable and says "I've wanted you since the first day I saw you, but if I can't have you I'll have somebody else... Oh, c'mon we're getting too serious…
