Party Monster 2003
Just awful. Didn’t feel authentic to the experiences of clubbing, being queer, or being an addict. Bad acting by most, but not in a fun campy way. Plot dragged. Costumes were hit or miss. And there were barely even any fun dancefloor scenes!? Makes me wonder *why* it’s so perplexingly bad— like, did studio execs demand that all the juicy, gay, fun, and REAL parts be cut, to try to aim for a mainstream amerikan audience? Was the script rewritten a thousand times? Were no actual queer people involved in the making of this?
