    Wow.

This was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Not only is it a poetic and intimately melancholy portrait of Sakamoto, but we get to be a fly on the wall as he constructs async, his late career masterpiece and one of my favorite albums of the last decade or so.

I admire everything about this legend of an artist. We lost a truly great one.

    Hot DAYUM.

I may need to see it again to be sure, but this might actually be a 5er. I was lukewarm on Longlegs, but I loved everything about this. A perfect balance of suspense, horror, and pure comedy without sacrificing the emotional heart. Generational trauma hasn’t been this fun in a while.

Will probably have more to say on repeat.

Super hero fatigue is understandably real at the cinema. (As a lifelong comic fan I’m ok if nerd stuff gets relegated back to niche, personally.)

But as a fan of Hulk lore and the Cap flavor of MCU in general, I was entertained. I appreciated the “Black Cap thwarts a warmonger president from getting too orange after being hijacked by a fuckin tech maniac super villain.”

It was pretty badass in 3D, too.

I'm "George Lucas": A Connor Ratliff Story

    ★★★★

Had the pleasure of catching this doc’s debut at Sundance’s Slamdance festival, and as a 41 year old lifelong Star Wars nerd that happens to be a struggling creative stuck in a frustrating rut and wondering what the hell I should be doing with my life, this movie really struck a chord in ways I was not expecting.

There’s a brilliant through line about expectation, the illusion of “success,” and authenticity in creative pursuits despite failures and setbacks that hit…

A Shakespearean love triangle that finally shows us just how Zendaya’s beautiful ass can make or break your game.

So many fantastic interpersonal movements going on. The drama had me moving my head just as much as the tennis.

    BBH, boys. B…B…H.

    Aaaah never mind it’s Zendaya.
