  Looking for a respite from the real world, found a typical 80s sex comedy, with drinking, nudity, a gorilla suit and, aw shit… politicians being greedy conniving assholes.

  “Do you understand pain?”

  Surprisingly and thankfully deeper than the trailer that was served up a couple hundred times this year. Has some nice moments and fun kills, although I’m not sure so many cops and EMTs needed to be fridges in this to be effective.

  I appreciate the show of craftsmanship, creating horror from surprisingly little gore. The roar of the chainsaw and Sally's lungs keep the tension ratcheted up, and the limited use of light keep you guessing.

  This movie tells you right away what it is: gratuitously gory and noisy, as in, people never shut up, they’re constantly describing everything going on. 

  Some fun set pieces are utterly wasted in service of an uninteresting rehash of a story.
