Grave of the Fireflies 1988
A very interesting movie to watch that I am still not entirely sure how to feel about. I often struggle to evaluate to what extent I enjoy pieces of media that are just truly crushing. The amount of times that you encounter scenes in this movie that are just devastating is fairly high. Some scenes in particular that stand out. The narrative structure of the movie is also very interesting as it essentially just meanders throughout the main characters' suffering…

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish 2022
This movie was so good! They did a wonderful job of creating a beautiful film visually for starters. I was also impressed by their ability to convey meaningful emotional content through the limitations of a children's movie. I will note tho that puss without and boots or cape looks way more naked than you would think. Just something to think about.

The Menu 2022
Pretty ok. The cheeseburger scene is obviously top notch, but after that it just didn't really hit that well for me. Got lost between what was commentary versus insanity versus just general plot. The commentary in general, honestly, just felt lacking. I will say, to its credit, that it was a very unique film that I don't regret watching in the slightest, just not my favorite.
