  The writing was vapid and the characters were lazy archetypal figures. I will award two stars because of the nostalgia and I’ll be lenient because of the time period of this movie’s release.

  It’s the nostalgia for me… but I will give flowers to Catherine Hardwicke for stirring this film into being a cinematic pop culture phenomenon. The green tint, the baseball scene, the teen angst, the biology scene, this is the skin of a killer, Bella. Point is, I could go on. Also the score and song selections are immaculate. The essence of Bella and Edward are captured to a tee and match that of Bella and Edward in the books. I seriously couldn’t imagine anyone else and that goes for the rest of the cast.
