Dev Patel fights the slums of India yet again. Had high hopes for this film and it shockingly exceeded my expectations. Didn't know that a souped-up auto rickshaw chase scene was missing from my life. Borrowing from the likes of Indonesian action flicks (The Raid), John Wick and neo noir revenge elements of Nicholas Winding Refn films, results in a revenge thriller that is gory, intense and enjoyable.

I understand what SRK was up to with his film release schedule this year. Pathaan came in earliest as a pallette cleanser to healthily lower expectations. Jawan is the misunderstood middle child that isn't as bad as it seems. Finally, Dunki comes in and is far from perfect but has enough redeeming qualities to be worthwhile.
