lanthimos takes his themes of humans turning into animals from dogtooth and makes it very literal with the lengths people will go to for companionship. the deification of the family unit and couples is markedly fascist and falls apart under scrutiny yet none of the characters seek to change the system because it is something everyone desires. absolutely stunning film
