  most enjoyable john wayne movie i’ve ever watched. I wonder if the comparably small role he has in the film and the few lines he has is the reason why. still relied on the age-old racist adage “indians are savage and they’re gonna take our white women!11!!” but it’s only a small part (for a western, which means it’s still prevalent). i’m glad everyone (excluding the native americans, of course. this was a western, i stress to you) lived happily ever after.

  I literally grew up watching this movie and it honestly holds up because it’s just about a clumsy, good natured kid who hates being called a chicken trying to get his parents back together so he can exist. Almost a 1000% sure it doesn’t pass the bechdel test tho, but I think ima give it a pass this time, folks.
