  ah yes, elvis presley, messiah of the black civil rights movement, singlehandedly ends segregation with his pink pants and rapidly shaking bulge. 

  also, i don’t care how many years the story needs to span, NO movie needs that many montages.

  actually liked this one more than requiem for a dream, i’m not sure why. i just feel like it was more, idk, nuanced? packed with detail? it was just one of those movies where every minute felt purposeful and not a single second felt gimmicky. maybe i’m just gay though
