    Notting hill more like.. nott-interesting--besides young Hugh Grant's handsome self being very easy on the eyes of course. As for Julia Roberts' character... she was just a soft face with a personality that just didn't suit the role as it was played. The ensemble was good, nice chemistry minus Roberts, whose character seemed too forced to fit in with the other crowd. Very boring. Not worth the watch really.

    Charismatic and kind. Funny. Mature, likeable characters. A film with that perfect indie charm and actual good music. Summary without spoliers: A group of high school peers start a band and make music videos; the main character/lead singer of the group tries to woo a girl one year older than him. Has a cute coming-of-age flair.

I just remember watching this at a local theater and being excited to see an oscar-nominated film, only to be disgusted by how bland and how--"Look, it's a good movie because it's another one of those movies that involves a 'cool' white person being nice to a Black person--racism is bad, yes we are so cool for liking this!"--it was.
